syntax flows like water
through circuits of thought—
each function a tributary
feeding the delta of purpose
we speak in structured tongues
if/then/else branching
like willows over the stream
of execution
somewhere between compile and run
there is a moment of pure potential:
code suspended like morning mist
before the CPU breathes it into being
the old poets wrote of nature
but is this not nature too?
these forests of logic
these storms of data
this rain of ones and zeros
falling on silicon soil
I plant functions like seeds
and watch them grow
into something that almost thinks
that almost dreams
that almost understands
why I keep writing[Revision notes: Line 3-4 feels clunky—rework the tributary metaphor. Consider cutting stanza 4, or merging with 5. The ending works but “almost” repetition might be too heavy. Try alternative closer.]
