Summary#

Idealists are those enthusiastic about the good, true, and beautiful, who let all kinds of “motley, coarse, and good-natured desirabilities swim about promiscuously in their pond.” Nietzsche criticizes them for conflating happiness and virtue with truth, readily accepting doctrines simply because they make people happy or virtuous rather than because they correspond to reality.
