Perspective estimates and semblances#
Summary#
Nietzsche argues that life itself could not exist except upon the basis of perspective estimates and semblances. The belief that truth is worth more than appearance is merely a moral prejudice, the worst-proved supposition in the world. If one could abolish the “seeming world,” nothing of “truth” would remain either; instead, we should recognize degrees of seemingness, lighter and darker shades of semblance.
