Summary#
The will to knowledge is not opposed to ignorance but emerges from it as a refinement. It rests upon a “far more powerful will”—the will to ignorance—and serves life by loving error, since knowledge itself, as something living, necessarily loves life. Even the best knowledge works to retain us in a simplified, falsified world.
